Movie Detail |
| Shelley Darlington has lived at the Playboy mansion for the last nine years. She is Hef's favorite and acts like a den mother to the other girls. On her birthday, she is unceremoniously evicted from Hef's pad for 'being too old.' Homeless and without essential skills, Shelley wanders around L.A. until she finds a new job--the housemother at the most unpopular sorority on campus. |
Despite director Fred Wolf’s pedigree as a screenwriter
(Without a Paddle) and the story’s ludicrous
premise — a bubbly Playboy
bunny (Anna Faris) teaches a house of hapless sorority
sisters to love themselves — I had hope for The House
Bunny due to the presence of Faris, one of the most
gifted comediennes on the planet. Uh, my bad. Cliched to
the point of tedium, this comedy “from the writers of
Legally Blonde” riffs on every dumb-blonde
stereotype imaginable to largely unfunny results despite
another fully committed performance from Faris. (Jason Gargano) Grade: C-
